Kasey Kahne Night at Charter Raceway Park in Beaver Dam Set for June 2: Featuring Kahne along with Craig Dollansky & Joey Saldana

By Tony Veneziano
Beaver Dam, WI—April 22, 2009-- Kasey Kahne is coming to Charter Raceway Park in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin on Tuesday, June 2 for Kasey Kahne Night. He’ll not only be meeting and greeting fans, but he’ll have with him one of his 850-horsepower fire breathing winged 410-sprint cars to take on the best of the best from the Bumper to Bumper/ IRA Outlaw Sprint Series, as well as two special guests from the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.

Kasey Kahne Night will mark the NASCAR star’s first start in a sprint car in the state of Wisconsin in his career. He has raced just once in the Badger State, with that coming in a Midget back in 2000. It will also mark his first start with the IRA and his second overall appearance in a sprint car this season. Kahne has 20 career wins in winged sprint cars from coast to coast, cutting his teeth racing in the high powered machines in his home state of Washington and across the West Coast.

In addition to the best drivers from the IRA, Kahne will also have to contend with two of his employees as World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series stars Craig Dollansky and Joey Saldana who drive for Kahne on the circuit will be in attendance at the always racy high-banked 1/3-mile. Each of those drivers looks to keep win streaks in IRA action intact, with Dollansky having scored victories in each of his last four races with the series, while Saldana is a perfect one for one in his career with the IRA.

Dollansky, who hails from Elk River, Minnesota, has won four times in his career at Charter Raceway Park, including in 2005, when he was victorious over 20-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser. He has finished fourth in each of his two starts at the track. In his career, Dollansky has won eight times with the IRA, at seven different tracks. He is currently fifth in the World of Outlaws standings as he continues his first season driving for Kasey Kahne Racing.

Saldana won at Charter Raceway Park in 2001 and has four consecutive Top-10 finishes at the track. He currently leads the World of Outlaws with five wins in 2009 and is among the Top-Five in the series championship standings as he battles for his first career title. Saldana is perfect in his career with the IRA, winning in his only start back in 1998 in Michigan.

A drawing will be held on Kasey Kahne Night in which one lucky fan will win a chance to ride in the pace truck with Kahne during the National Anthem.
